Thank you, Louisa Street!
After six years, we will soon be saying goodbye to our Louisa Street recycling drop-off location. The final day to drop-off at Louisa Street is September 30th, 2026.
Our six years on Louisa Street have been an important chapter in the Glass Half Full story. When we first opened the location, Louisa Street was our only glass recycling drop-off. It was also where we processed the glass we collected, using our original small-scale equipment, sometimes just a few bottles at a time.
A lot has changed in six years.
Today, Glass Half Full operates a three-acre glass recycling and processing facility capable of processing hundreds of millions of bottles each year, along with more than 30 recycling drop-off locations across Louisiana.
As we close this chapter on Louisa Street, we're more excited than ever about what's ahead for Glass Half Full.
Our Louisa Street recycling drop-off will officially close on September 30th, 2026. Fortunately, there are more ways than ever to continue recycling with Glass Half Full.
Want to make recycling even easier? We'll come to you.
Our door-to-door residential recycling service brings Glass Half Full directly to your home, so there's no need to make the trip to a drop-off location. Residential pickup is now available throughout Orleans Parish, Jefferson Parish, St. Bernard Parish, Baton Rouge, the Northshore, Hattiesburg, Coastal Mississippi, Mobile, Birmingham, and other communities across the Gulf South.
Joining our Residential Pickups Membership is also one of the best ways to directly support Glass Half Full and help us continue expanding recycling access throughout our communities.

For everyone who has made Louisa Street part of their recycling routine over the years, thank you. Thank you for showing up, for recycling with us, and for helping make this location what it became. We're incredibly proud of what we built on Louisa Street, and grateful to everyone who was part of it.
Thank you, Louisa Street.
